We had a lot of fun with Ace Bakery during our annual feed tomorrow week! Ace Bakery generously donated 6-ft baguettes to 16 Junior Chefs’ programs across the city as part of the “6 foot Student Snack Down Challenge”, where students worked to prepare tasty sandwiches for the after school program’s snack time. We tried a few and they were delicious!

In addition to donating the baguettes, the staff at Ace Bakery raised donations amongst themselves for beyond 3:30 programs through friendly competitions and events. Employees were encouraged to place bets on who would wear a two-person horse costume for an entire day, as well as hosting events such as an early bird raffle, 50/50 draw, bake sale, pancake day and street hockey game. Through their efforts, they raised over $20,000 with George Weston Limited matching their efforts dollar for dollar. Overall, over $41,000 was raised for beyond 3:30 programs!

Thank you Ace Bakery. It’s great see employees having so much fun while trying to raise money for a good cause!
