24 Cups of Michelin-Starred and Top Toronto Chefs: Reimagining Childhood Classics
The culinary magic started with top Toronto talents adding their signature gourmet flair to nostalgic childhood dishes, turning comfort food into something extraordinary. And the best part? Students from a local public school were special junior chefs for the day, helping prepare delicious food for the guests!
From deep-fried traditional Japanese nanbanzuke (Chef Masaki Saito’s elevated take on chicken fingers and fries) to Chef Michael Hunter’s “sloppy doe” (a bun stuffed with venison ragù), each dish was a unique, mouthwatering creation that left guests asking for seconds and more importantly, feeling inspired by the power of food to bring about change!

2 Pinches of Heartfelt Stories: A Day in the Life of a Toronto Schoolkid
The evening’s heartwarming moments didn’t stop with the food. Two powerful videos brought guests right into the hallways and classrooms of a local Toronto school, giving a raw, emotional look at how hunger affects children.
Guests listened to stories from students and teachers about how Student Nutrition Programs are making a life-changing difference, and how a simple meal fuels more than students’ bodies—it keeps them focused on succeeding in school and achieving their dreams!

A Heavy Sprinkle of Generosity: Live and Silent Auction, Bidding to Feed the Future
As the night heated up, guests got in on the action with a live and silent auction, bidding on some seriously jaw-dropping prizes. From exclusive dining experiences with top chefs to once-in-a-lifetime travel packages, the auctions raised vital funds to help nourish kids across Toronto.

A Spoonful of Friendly Competition: A Cook-Off Showdown Between the Premier and Mayor!
The night also featured a spirited cook-off between two special guests: Premier Doug Ford and Mayor Olivia Chow! They donned aprons and teamed up with Chef Patrick Kriss (Alo), Chef Jason Bangerter (Langdon Hall), Adrian Rocca (Fitzrovia) and Moez Kassam (Anson Funds) to face-off in a friendly culinary battle.

A Generous Pour of Community Spirit: A Night to Remember, A Cause to Champion
The message was clear: when the community comes together, anything is possible. From the first bite to the last, every dish was a reminder of how food can create change and bring us closer together.
A big THANK YOU from all the hungry kids across our city and the Toronto Foundation for Student Success to the amazing chefs, sponsors and event partners, co-chairs Marissa Kassam and Lauren Levy, as well as everyone who joined us at Chefs For Change. Together, we’re helping build a city where each child can take advantage of a good education and build brighter futures for themselves, their families and their communities!
