Will John Tory be Toronto's anti-poverty mayor?

SUMMARY: Mayor John Tory, Deputy Mayor Pam McConnell, and city staff have been leading community consultations and drafting Toronto's first ever poverty-reduction strategy. The interim report has more than 70 recommendations and calls for action on affordable housing, access to child care, and developing new ways to tackle food security. "For the first time, Toronto has a robust anti-poverty strategy. All we need now is for city council to step up and fund it."
