Glenn Hadden, President of the Hadden Family Foundation and a successful financier on Wall Street, understands the importance of giving back.
Originally hailing from East Scarborough, Glenn Hadden attributes a lot of who he is to the community he grew up in, which is why he gives back to beyond 3:30 and Student Nutrition Programs in the area. The Hadden Family Foundation, aims to “close the opportunity gap” by improving the lives of youth in Toronto through enhanced education and nutrition.
During a recent visit to Charles Gordon Senior Public School to visit the students at the beyond 3:30 program, Glenn Hadden and several family members, presented a cheque for $150,000 towards beyond 3:30 and Student Nutrition Programs across Toronto. Hadden says, "I want to close these opportunity gaps and make sure every student in our community has the same opportunity to be successful." To express their thanks, the students performed a song and dance they had written and choreographed themselves.
Since its founding in 2002, the Hadden Family Foundation has donated more than $900,000 to TFSS programs.
After the cheque presentation, Glenn and his brother-in-law joined in a friendly game of basketball during the physical component of the program. Students enjoy a minimum of 60 minutes of daily physical activity every day, much higher than the national average of exercise youth are getting. Working up an appetite, everyone joined together after the game to enjoy a delicious snack prepared by the Junior Chefs' Club. We thank the Hadden Family Foundation for supporting our students financially and inspiring them to chase their dreams of achieving huge success!
