Dinner for 2 = Breakfasts for 100 -
On October 17, tickets will go on sale for gourmet dinners for two at some of the best restaurants in Toronto. Buca, Café Belong and Lee are three of the wonderful restaurants participating in this initiative. Each dinner for two costs $136 and makes sure that 100 students have breakfast.
ACE Bakery 6-Foot Sandwich Snack Down Challenge - As part of their staff-led fundraising initiative, Ace Bakery staff will deliver 6-foot baguettes to all 18 beyond 3:30 sites and work with our Junior Chefs to prepare amazing creations, which will be enjoyed by all during snack time.
Vip Bus Tour -
VIPs, passionate about food and child nutrition, will travel “student style” to Rose Avenue JPS and Brock PS to see Student Nutrition Programs in action. Following the school experience, guests will arrive at a reception at St. Lawrence Market Kitchen, with food provided by St. Lawrence Market merchants.
TTC Take Over
- Enthusiastic secondary student volunteers will “take over” subway stations across Toronto to inform commuters about student hunger and raise funds for nutrition programs.
Junior Chefs' Wrap Up with Rice
- Three teams of beyond 3:30
after-school program students will “wrap up” feed tomorrow
by competing in a culinary challenge sponsored by USA Rice. Students began preparation for the competition in September, as teams of Junior Chefs from 18 beyond 3:30
sites put their creative skills to work cooking as well as developing video and PowerPoint presentations. The finalists will cook for a panel of judges, including chefs, “foodies” and media. The winning team will get a cash donation for their nutrition program and bragging rights for their school.
